Malaysia aims to attract 3 lakh
Bangladeshi tourists in 2026 under its Visit Malaysia Year campaign, focusing
on smoother travel through proper use of official e-Visa system.
Malaysian High
Commissioner (HC) Mohd Shuhada Othman announced the target on Saturday while
launching Malaysia Tourism Fair and Visit Malaysia Year 2026 promotional
campaign at a hotel in capital.
"Bangladesh remains one of Malaysia's strongest and fastest-growing tourist markets," Othman said, highlighting the tourism revival strategy includes targeted outreach to Bangladeshi travellers.
HC addressed concerns
about travellers being turned back at Malaysian immigration, stating the e-Visa
process is âsystematic and straightforwardâ when applicants use the official
portal. He warned that discrepancies from third-party applications may lead to
complications, including blacklisting.
Othman urged citizens to apply directly through the official e-Visa platform, regularly posted on the High Commission's Facebook page. "Please feel free to reach out to us for advice," he added, assuring assistance where needed.
