The Malaysian High Commission in Dhaka launched a five-day cultural and culinary event called “Malaysian Heritage Nite” to promote its Visit Malaysia 2026-2027 tourism campaign among Bangladeshi travelers.

In a press release, the High Commission said the event will be held at the Crowne Plaza Dhaka Airport by IHG from September 8 to 12 and will feature a selection of traditional Malaysian food items and cultural performances.

The opening night on September 8 included a live performance of the "Sape," a traditional Bornean instrument, by Malaysian musician Jerry Kamit, who was billed as part of the "Sounds of Borneo" segment of the programme.

The initiative is tied to Malaysia's "Surreal Experiences" tourism campaign, which was recently extended through the end of 2027. According to the High Commission, the extension is intended to position Malaysia as a safe, stable, and competitive destination amid shifting global travel patterns.

The High Commission said the event aims to introduce Bangladeshi travellers to Malaysia's cultural and natural attractions ahead of the 2026-2027 travel season.

Dining during the event is priced at BDT 8,999 net per person, with a "Dine 4, Pay 1" offer available for holders of select bank cards, the release said.
