The body of a Bangladeshi migrant worker killed in a missile attack in the Middle East was repatriated to Dhaka on Monday, received at the airport by Minister for Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment Ariful Haque Chowdhury.

The remains of Abdullah Al Mamun arrived at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) at 9:45 am local time aboard Saudi Airlines flight SV806 after he died from severe burn injuries sustained in the missile strike while working in Saudi Arabia.

Speaking to reporters following the handover, Minister Chowdhury said the government had recorded seven Bangladeshi deaths linked to the Middle East conflict to date.

An additional grant of Tk 300,000 is to be disbursed as longer-term financial support.
