Dr Nurunnahar Chowdhury, NDC, has been appointed secretary of the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism, according to a notification from the Ministry of Public Administration.

She was previously Member (Secretary) of the Planning Commission. The notification, issued on Wednesday, transferred her and posted her to the new role.

The order was issued by order of the President and takes effect immediately in the public interest, the notification said.

Fahmida Akhter had been serving as secretary of the civil aviation and tourism ministry. She is going on post-retirement leave on Thursday (October 15).
