Pakistan has extended its airspace ban on Indian aircraft by another month, until Nov 24, according to a Notice to Airmen (Notam) issued by the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA), Dawn reported.
The previous extension was due to expire on Oct 24, the newspaper said.
The Notam says âPakistan airspace not available for Indian registered aircraftâ and also covers aircraft operated, owned, or leased by Indian airlines and operators, including military flights, according to Dawn.
The extension took effect at 7:45 pm on Saturday and will remain in force until 4:59 am on Nov 24, the notice said. It applies to both the Karachi (OPKR) and Lahore (OPLR) flight information regions, the two FIRs into which Pakistanâs airspace is divided.
Besides, Indian news outlet The Hindu said India and Pakistan imposed reciprocal airspace restrictions on each otherâs aircraft after the April 2025 Pahalgam attack in Jammu and Kashmir. India accused Pakistan of involvement in the attack, and Islamabad denied the allegation, the report said.
The restrictions have affected airline operations between the two countries, forcing carriers to take longer routes on some international flights, according to The Hindu.
