The government has stressed the importance of project feasibility, long-term sustainability, local community engagement, and the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model in formulating development projects for the civil aviation and tourism sectors.

The directives were issued at a review meeting held on Monday at 1 pm in the conference room of the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism at the Bangladesh Secretariat. The meeting reviewed ongoing projects and new unapproved projects included in the Annual Development Programme (ADP) for the 2026–27 fiscal year under the ministry and its affiliated agencies.

The information was disclosed in a press release issued by the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism.

The meeting was chaired by Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Afroza Khanam. It was attended by State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism M. Rashiduzzaman Millat and State Minister for Planning Zonayed Saki.

Speaking at the meeting, Minister Afroza Khanam said that, in line with the Prime Minister’s directives, every development project should be formulated with careful consideration of its feasibility and long-term growth potential. She also stressed that projects should complement one another and ensure effective participation and engagement of local communities in the respective project areas.

The minister urged officials to take a more proactive approach and ensure that ongoing projects are completed within the stipulated timeframe so that people can benefit from them without delay.

State Minister M. Rashiduzzaman Millat said that development projects should be designed in line with the commitments outlined in the current democratic government's election manifesto. He also called for reducing reliance on direct government funding (GOB funds) and placing greater emphasis on implementing projects through the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model.

He further said that development initiatives should ensure that people across the country benefit from the progress of a transformed Bangladesh.

Senior officials from the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism, the Ministry of Planning, and other relevant departments and agencies were present at the review meeting.
