Qatar Airways will expand its global network to more than 170 destinations for the 2026-2027 winter season, the airline said Thursday, with plans to operate over 186 weekly flights across Africa, Asia Pacific, Europe, the Americas, and the Middle East through its Hamad International Airport hub in Doha.

The airline said it is also accelerating the rollout of Starlink satellite Wi-Fi, with up to 340 Starlink-enabled flights planned daily across more than 150 equipped widebody aircraft.

In Africa, Qatar Airways will resume daily flights to Zanzibar, Tanzania, from October 25, and will increase services to the Seychelles from four to seven weekly flights starting March 1, 2027. Flights to Johannesburg will increase from 14 to 18 weekly services starting December 2.

In North America, weekly flights to Montreal will increase from five to seven from October 25, which the airline said represents a 40 percent boost in seat capacity.

Across Asia Pacific, the airline plans some of its largest increases: flights to Phuket, Thailand, will rise from 14 to 21 weekly services, and flights to Malé, the Maldives, will rise from 12 to 21, both from October 25. Services to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, will increase from seven to 11 weekly flights from November 7, including the reintroduction of direct flights between Doha and the city.

Qatar Airways will also resume daily flights to Canberra via Melbourne from December 9, while frequencies to Melbourne itself will rise from seven to 14 weekly flights. The airline's partner, Virgin Australia, will separately expand flights to Doha from Sydney, Brisbane, and Perth starting in December.

In Europe, flights to London Heathrow will increase from 49 to 56 weekly services from October 25, an 11 percent rise in capacity, while flights to Frankfurt will grow from 18 to 21 weekly services from December 7.

In Saudi Arabia, the airline is resuming service to four cities—Qassim, Taif, Yanbu, and Tabuk—between October 2026 and January 2027, each to be served twice weekly. The airline said the expansion would push its total weekly flights in the kingdom past 155, an increase of more than 10 percent over the summer schedule, and expand its Saudi network to 12 destinations.

Qatar Airways said it expects to operate nearly 1,800 weekly frequencies by December 2026. Skytrax named the airline "World's Best Airline" for a ninth time at the 2025 World Airline Awards, according to the release.
