Qatar Airways to restore service to and from Doha to over 120 destinations by mid-May

Qatar Airways has announced plans to gradually resume its flight network in the Middle East, aiming to restore service to and from Doha to over 120 destinations by mid-May.

The move comes as the airline continues to recover from disruptions caused by the recent US-Iran conflict, which led to the suspension of thousands of flights across the region.

According to its latest revised flight schedule, Qatar Airways said all flights to and from Doha will continue to operate through dedicated flight corridors established in close coordination with the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority.

It is currently operating flights between Doha and Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou, while Hangzhou, Chongqing and Chengdu will be reinstated to its China route network starting in mid-May.

In March, Qatar Airways reportedly parked 17 aircraft at Teruel Airport in rural Spain, a former military base previously used during the Covid pandemic to house grounded planes, highlighting the extent of the disruption.

Separately, Iraq's civil aviation authority said it was reopening the country's airspace following the announcement of a US-Iran ceasefire, after it was closed due to the Middle East war.

"The Iraqi Civil Aviation Authority announces the reopening of Iraqi airspace to air traffic effective today, following the stabilization of the situation and the return of conditions to normal," it said.
