Riyadh Air has opened ticket sales for its upcoming daily direct service between Dhaka and Riyadh, with flights scheduled to commence on August 7, marking the Saudi Arabian national carrier's entry into the Bangladesh market.
The airline announced on Thursday that the new route will operate daily between Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (DAC) in Dhaka and King Khalid International Airport (RUH) in Riyadh using Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft.
According to the airline, flight RX0763 will depart Riyadh at 9:20 pm local time and arrive in Dhaka at 6:10 am the following day. The return service, flight RX0764, will depart Dhaka at 7:40 am and arrive in Riyadh at 10:55 am local time.
Riyadh Air said the launch is part of its expanding international network and is intended to strengthen connectivity between Saudi Arabia and Bangladesh while addressing growing demand for both business and leisure travel. The airline said the route would also provide passengers from Dhaka with onward connections to destinations across the Middle East and Europe through Riyadh Air's network and codeshare partnerships.
The carrier described Bangladesh as one of South Asia's fast-growing aviation markets and said the new service reflects its commitment to expanding operations in the region. It added that Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia share longstanding diplomatic relations and increasing strategic cooperation, with the new route expected to further strengthen travel, tourism and business links between the two countries.
The airline said Riyadh, as Saudi Arabia's capital and commercial centre, offers Bangladeshi travellers increased opportunities for business engagement as well as access to the city's entertainment, lifestyle attractions and growing economy. It added that the service would also support international business and academic travel.
Ticket bookings are available through the Riyadh Air mobile application, the airline's website, travel agents and other booking platforms.
The Dhaka route will be served by Riyadh Air's Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners, featuring four cabin classes: Business Elite, Business, Premium Economy and Economy.
According to the airline, the aircraft are equipped with fully flat beds in Business Elite and Business classes, enhanced privacy and additional storage in Premium Economy, ergonomic seating across all cabins, adjustable headrests in Economy, and AC power outlets, USB-C and USB-A charging ports, and Bluetooth audio connectivity at every seat.
The airline said the aircraft will feature Panasonic Avionics' Astrova in-flight entertainment system, offering more than 500 movies, 600 television series, including content from Shahid, Disney+, HBO Max and Warner Bros., 1,000 audio albums and playlists, mobile-first connectivity, cinema-quality displays and wireless audio capability.
Riyadh Air added that onboard amenities include Saudi-made Kayanee products, Disney amenity kits for children, John Horsfall bedding, enhanced dining services and a five-sense wellness programme. Business Elite and Business passengers will receive exclusive loungewear, while Premium Economy travellers will be provided with Kayanee tops.
The airline also invited passengers to join its loyalty programme, Sfeer, which it said offers a Best Offer Guarantee, complimentary onboard Wi-Fi, a no-points-expiry policy and the ability to earn rewards from the first flight.
According to Riyadh Air, the name "Sfeer" combines the Arabic word for "Ambassador" with the English word "sphere". Early members will be recognised as "The Founders" and will receive priority access to bookings on newly launched routes, along with additional programme benefits.
