SalamAir marks nine years, celebrates 34 lakh passengers milestone

SalamAir, Oman's low-cost carrier, celebrated its ninth anniversary on February 1, marking nearly a decade of connecting the Sultanate with regional and international destinations.

Airline operated 22 thousand 164 flights in 2025, carrying over 34 lakh passengers across more than 44 destinations. SalamAir currently operates a modern fleet of 15 Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft, with over 80 daily flights to 38 destinations.

Company announced plans to add three new aircraft in 2026, scheduled for delivery in May, June and September. Fleet expansion supports SalamAir's target of growing to 25 aircraft by 2028, following its February 2025 order for 10 additional planes.

Adrian Hamilton-Manns, Chief Executive Officer of SalamAir, thanked passengers and partners for their continued trust.

"This milestone reflects the commercial strength, agility, and dedication of our team, and reinforces our focus on profitable growth, customer-led innovation, and strengthening SalamAir's position as a leading low-cost carrier in the region," Hamilton-Manns said.

SalamAir launched new routes to Port Sudan in January, Damascus in May, Vienna in June and Medan in July 2025. Additional destinations are planned for announcement during 2026 as part of the airline's network diversification strategy.

Carrier commenced operations in 2017, aligning with Oman's Vision 2040 development goals. Airline's expansion reflects growing passenger demand and strengthens Oman's aviation connectivity with domestic, regional and international markets.

SalamAir positions itself as a competitive low-cost carrier focusing on profitable growth, operational resilience and customer-led innovation across the Middle East region.
