The embassies of Schengen Area member states in Dhaka issued a joint advisory on Monday urging Bangladeshi visa applicants to submit their applications to the embassy corresponding to their primary travel destination, cautioning that applications lodged at the wrong mission will be refused outright.

The notice on the verified Facebook page of the Schengen embassies in Dhaka stated, "Please apply with the embassy corresponding to the main destination of your trip. Applying to the wrong embassy will result in refusal of your application."

The Schengen Area comprises 29 European countries that have abolished internal border controls, allowing free movement across member states under a single visa framework.
