Sharjah Airport achieves level 3 customer experience accreditation from ACI

Sharjah Airport has achieved Level 3 Airport Customer Experience Accreditation from Airports Council International (ACI), the latest milestone in its efforts to improve passenger services, according to Emirates News Agency (WAM).

The airport first received Level 1 accreditation in 2022, advanced to Level 2 in 2023 after rolling out a customer experience strategy across all departments, and renewed its Level 2 status in 2025 before progressing to Level 3 this year.

Ali Salim Al Midfa, Chairman of Sharjah Airport Authority, said the accreditation reflects the airport's commitment to placing passenger satisfaction at the centre of its operations, in line with its strategy of delivering an integrated travel experience built on quality and excellence while reinforcing Sharjah's position as a leading destination for travel, tourism and business, WAM quoted him as saying.

Al Midfa added that reaching Level 3 demonstrates the airport's ability to gather and analyse passenger feedback and convert it into tangible improvements in coordination with airport partners, helping raise service standards across the wider airport community, according to the report.

He said the accreditation process evaluated how passenger feedback is collected and used, coordination with service providers, and the airport's ability to deliver a seamless travel experience from arrival to departure.

To meet the requirements for Level 3, Sharjah Airport introduced a number of initiatives, including strengthened feedback tools to identify areas for improvement and respond more quickly to passenger concerns. The airport also expanded collaboration with airlines, ground handlers and other stakeholders to maintain consistent service standards throughout the passenger journey.

Passenger satisfaction reports are now shared regularly across airport departments to help teams identify strengths and areas needing improvement, with employees across the airport community contributing to shared responsibility for service quality.

ACI launched the Airport Customer Experience Accreditation Programme to help airports measure and improve the passenger experience, providing tools and expertise to manage passenger journeys, develop action plans and identify opportunities to raise service quality, the report said.
