Singapore keen on APIS, airport revenue systems

Singapore has expressed strong interest in supporting Bangladesh in modernising its airport services through the development of the Advanced Passenger Information System (APIS) and Aeronautical Revenue Management System.

The interest was conveyed when Singapore High Commissioner to Bangaldesh Derek Loh Eu-Tse paid a courtesy call on Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Afroza Khanam at the Bangladesh Secretariat here this afternoon, an official press release said.

During the meeting, the Singapore envoy said Singapore-based companies Crimson and Enterprise are interested in working on the development of APIS and the Aeronautical Revenue Management System as part of efforts to modernise Bangladesh’s airport operations.

The two sides also underscored the importance of further strengthening bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Singapore through enhanced cooperation in aviation and tourism sectors.

Khanam expressed Bangladesh’s interest in working jointly with Singapore for the continued development of the country’s aviation sector.

They also discussed prospects of cooperation in tourism development under the public-private partnership (PPP) model, the release added.
