Slain Bangladeshi student Bristy's remains to return home on May 9

The body of Nahida Sultana Bristy, a Bangladeshi PhD student brutally murdered in Florida, United States, is scheduled to arrive in Dhaka on the morning of May 9.


In a Facebook post, Golam Mortoza, the press minister of the Bangladesh Embassy in Washington, shared the information.


According to the press minister, the body will depart Orlando International Airport, Florida, on May 7 at 8:50 PM local time aboard Emirates flight EK 0220 to Dubai, before continuing on flight EK 0582 to arrive in Dhaka at 8:40 AM on May 9.


Prior to repatriation, a funeral prayer is scheduled to be held today, May 6, at 2:00 PM in Tampa, where members of the local Bangladeshi expatriate community are expected to attend.


The entire repatriation process is being overseen by the Bangladesh Consulate General in Miami, with the Bangladesh Embassy in Washington, DC, coordinating all arrangements in consultation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
