Tata Boeing Aerospace Limited (TBAL), a joint venture between Boeing and Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL), has completed and delivered its 400th fuselage for the AH-64E Apache attack helicopter, a milestone for India's aerospace and defence manufacturing sector, according to a report by The Free Press Journal.

The fuselage was produced at TBAL's 52,000-square-metre facility in Hyderabad, which manufactures critical airframe structures for Apache helicopters supplied to defence customers worldwide.

The US Embassy in India marked the achievement in a post on X, describing it as a significant milestone for Boeing and Tata Advanced Systems and a reflection of the ongoing defence partnership between the United States and India.

The Hyderabad facility builds the main fuselage structures for AH-64E Apaches, which are later integrated into complete aircraft and delivered to operators around the world. The Apache is flown by the US Army as well as military forces in 19 other countries, the report said.

Boeing said fuselages built in India are incorporated into aircraft delivered globally, including units supplied to the US Army and six Apaches delivered to the Indian Army in 2025. The Indian Air Force separately operates a fleet of 22 AH-64E Apache helicopters.

With roughly 1,300 Apache helicopters currently in service across 19 countries, the latest production milestone reflects the growing role of Indian manufacturing within the global supply chain for one of the world's most widely deployed attack helicopter platforms, according to the report.

Established in 2016, TBAL has built up its Hyderabad site into a major hub for advanced aerospace and defence manufacturing, employing more than 750 engineers and technicians who use robotics, automated tooling, and advanced production techniques to build precision components.

Production has picked up pace in recent months. TBAL reached its 300th Apache fuselage milestone in February 2025, meaning the company has produced another 100 fuselages in roughly 18 months, the report said.
