A Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight carrying Prime Minister Tarique Rahman and his entourage from Japan to Dhaka has been delayed at Narita International Airport due to a technical fault.
The national flag carrier confirmed the delay in a press release issued here today, saying flight BG377 could not depart from Narita as scheduled because of a mechanical problem.
Biman's flight crew and engineering team are working to identify and rectify the technical fault to ensure the aircraft's safe departure, the release said.
"Further updates regarding the flight will be communicated in due course," Biman said in the release.
The Prime Minister was scheduled to return home following his official visit to Japan from October 26 to 29, during which he held bilateral talks with Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi and attended engagements aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation.
