Turkish firm Celebi eyes ground handling role at Dhaka airport

Turkey’s leading aviation services provider Celebi Aviation Holding has expressed interest in joining ground handling operations at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka.
The interest was conveyed by Turkish Ambassador to Bangladesh Ramis Sen during a courtesy meeting with Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Afroza Khanam and State Minister M. Rashiduzzaman Millat at the Secretariat, according to a press release issued by the ministry.
During the meeting, both sides emphasized strengthening the longstanding friendly and bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Turkey. They also discussed cooperation in modernising Bangladesh’s tourism sector and developing infrastructure, including the potential for Turkish technical and strategic support.
Ambassador Sen said Celebi Aviation, a top aviation company in Turkey, is keen to partner in the development of Bangladesh’s aviation sector, particularly by investing in and providing advanced technology for ground handling services at the country’s main international airport.
The ministers reiterated that the government is committed to working closely with friendly nations like Turkey to further develop Bangladesh’s aviation and tourism sectors.
Senior officials from the ministry and representatives from the Turkish Embassy were also present at the meeting
