The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has invited Prime Minister Tarique Rahman to attend two major international defence and maritime security exhibitions scheduled to be held in Abu Dhabi in January next year.

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE, extended the invitation to the Bangladesh premier, according to a press release issued by the UAE Embassy in Dhaka today.

The invitation is for the 18th edition of the International Defence Exhibition and Conference (IDEX 2027) and the eighth edition of the Naval Defence and Maritime Security Exhibition (NAVDEX 2027).

Both events will take place at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) in the UAE capital from January 25 to 29, 2027.

IDEX and NAVDEX are leading international platforms showcasing the latest technological advancements and innovations in land, naval and air defence.

The exhibitions bring together prominent defence and security experts, policymakers and leading international companies specialising in defence technologies and security solutions.

In his invitation, Sheikh Hamdan expressed the belief that Prime Minister Tarique Rahman's participation would significantly enrich the events and contribute to their success.

The UAE leader also conveyed his highest consideration and profound appreciation to the Bangladesh premier.
