The British High Commission in Dhaka on Tuesday cautioned Bangladeshi nationals against a growing number of fraudulent schemes falsely promising guaranteed UK visas or employment, urging anyone who suspects deception to report it through an official channel.
In a statement published on its verified Facebook page, the mission said it was aware of increasing reports of people in Bangladesh being misled by false claims related to UK visas, including fabricated guarantees of visa approvals and job offers.
The High Commission directed the general public to report suspected visa fraud confidentially via email at BangladeshVisaFraud@fcdo.gov.uk and stressed that all official visa guidance should be sought exclusively through the UK government's website at www.gov.uk.
UK visa fraud targeting prospective migrants has been a persistent concern in South Asia, where high demand for overseas work and study opportunities has made populations vulnerable to exploitation by fraudulent agents and intermediaries.
