US-Bangla Airlines to hold blood donation campaign for World Blood Donor Day

To mark World Blood Donor Day, US-Bangla Airlines will organize a voluntary blood donation campaign for its employees in collaboration with the Bangladesh Thalassemia Foundation on June 14.

The program will take place on 14 June 2026 (Sunday) at the airline's corporate office in Uttara, Dhaka.

The event, being held in collaboration with the Bangladesh Thalassemia Foundation, aims to promote voluntary blood donation, raise public awareness about the importance of maintaining a safe blood supply, and encourage humanitarian engagement among employees.

According to the statement, the programme will begin with an awareness seminar from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the airline's corporate headquarters in Uttara. Representatives from the airline's medical service team and the Bangladesh Thalassemia Foundation are expected to discuss the significance of blood donation, the ongoing need for regular blood donations for thalassemia patients, and ways to increase public awareness of the issue.

The voluntary blood donation drive will follow the seminar and continue until 4:00 pm. Employees from various departments of the airline have been invited to participate.

Thalassemia patients often require regular blood transfusions to survive, making a stable and safe blood supply critical for their treatment. Health experts have long emphasized the role of voluntary donors in meeting the country's blood demand and reducing reliance on replacement donations.

US-Bangla Airlines said the initiative reflects its commitment to humanitarian values and social responsibility. The carrier added that it views regular voluntary blood donation as an important means of saving lives and fostering a more compassionate and socially responsible society.

The airline said it plans to continue supporting community welfare and social development programmes as part of its broader corporate responsibility efforts.
