US-Bangla Beat Air India on Penalties to Reach AFC 2026 Final

US-Bangla Airlines becomes the first team to reach the final of the ATJFB Airlines Football Championship (AFC) 2026 after defeating Air India 4-3 in a penalty shootout in the first semifinal at the Gulshan Youth Club Field in Gulshan-2 on Saturday.
The match ended goalless after regulation time despite both sides creating several chances. Following a closely contested first half, the pace increased after the break, with both teams mounting attacks and producing several shots on target.
In the shootout, US-Bangla converted all four of their penalty kicks, while Air India scored their first three penalties before missing the fourth, handing victory to US-Bangla.
Rudro of US-Bangla Airlines was named man of the match. Speaking after the game, he thanked the spectators and expressed hope that more such tournaments would be organised in the future.
Biman Bangladesh Airlines, US-Bangla Airlines, Qatar Airways and Air India qualified for the semifinals of Bangladesh's first-ever Airlines Football Championship, which was inaugurated on Friday by State Minister for Youth and Sports Md Aminul Haque in the presence of the ambassadors of Brazil and Argentina to Bangladesh.
