The U.S. Embassy in Dhaka has advised prospective travelers to the United States to ensure they have sufficient financial resources and proper documentation ahead of visa interviews, according to a message posted on its verified Facebook page.
In the advisory, the embassy said individuals planning to visit the United States should be prepared to cover their travel expenses independently, including costs that may arise from possible travel disruptions or medical emergencies during their stay.
The message also urged applicants to attend visa interviews with appropriate preparation and carry documents demonstrating they are unlikely to depend on public assistance after entering the United States.
The embassy further warned that submitting false documents during the visa process constitutes fraud. Such actions could lead to disqualification from obtaining a visa and may result in permanent ineligibility, it said.
U.S. missions worldwide periodically issue guidance to visa applicants to help them understand application requirements and compliance with immigration rules.
