The United States Embassy in Dhaka on Saturday issued a warning to foreign visitors, cautioning that those who abuse or become reliant on US taxpayer-funded benefits could face severe consequences, including visa revocation.
The embassy posted the notice on its official Facebook page, urging nonimmigrant visa holders to be aware of the strict rules governing their stay in the United States.
"Foreign visitors who abuse or otherwise become reliant on US taxpayer-funded benefits can face severe consequences," the notice read.
According to the advisory, nonimmigrant visa holders who abuse such benefits may have their visas revoked and could be declared ineligible for future US visas.
The embassy urged all prospective visitors to ensure they are financially prepared to cover their own expenses during their stay in the United States.
For further information, the embassy directed visitors to the official travel website at travel.state.gov.
