Emirates will deploy the Airbus A350-900 on its Dubai-Orlando route from November 1, marking the first time the aircraft will operate regular services to the United States, Simple Flying reported.
The aircraft will fly daily between Dubai International Airport (DXB) and Orlando International Airport (MCO) in Florida, replacing the Boeing 777 currently used on the route, the report said. Emirates began flying to Florida in 2015.
The flight leaves Dubai early in the morning and arrives in Orlando in mid-morning. The return flight leaves late in the evening and flies overnight to Dubai. Simple Flying said the timings suit connections to Emirates' wider Asia and Africa network.
The Orlando route will also be the first to get Emirates' new Premium Economy cabin on the A350-900 in the US market, according to the report.
The aircraft has 298 seats in three cabins: 32 in business class, 28 in premium economy, and 238 in economy.
Premium Economy seats are 19.5 inches (49.5 cm) wide and have adjustable headrests, in-seat charging, a wood-finished cocktail table, and a 13.3-inch (33.8 cm) screen linked to the airline's ICE inflight entertainment system, Simple Flying said.
Emirates Vice President for the US Matthew Jones said customers on the route would be able to fly to Dubai with the latest inflight experience in all three cabin classes, including Premium Economy, which is available on a growing list of routes.
Emirates introduced Premium Economy on the Airbus A380 in late 2020, starting with select routes such as London Heathrow, before extending it to retrofitted A380 and Boeing 777 aircraft and to new deliveries including the A350-900, the report said.
Emirates flies nonstop to 12 US cities: Boston, Chicago, Dallas/Fort Worth, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Newark, Orlando, San Francisco, Seattle, and Washington, DC. It also operates two fifth-freedom routes, Dubai-Milan-New York and Dubai-Athens-Newark. The US is its largest market by number of destinations, ahead of India with 10 and the United Kingdom with six.
The airline has a codeshare partnership with United Airlines for single-ticket connections across the US domestic network and interline agreements with Alaska Airlines, JetBlue, and Sun Country.
