The Bangladesh Embassy in Bangkok has facilitated the repatriation of three Bangladeshi nationals rescued from cyber scam compounds in Myawaddi, Myanmar, bringing the total number of citizens returned from such operations to approximately 50, the mission said Tuesday.
In a statement published on its official social media page, the embassy said the latest repatriation was carried out with the active support of the governments of Thailand and Myanmar, as well as other partner organisations engaged in combating transnational human trafficking networks in the region.
Myawaddi, a border town in eastern Myanmar, has drawn widespread international attention as a hub for sophisticated cyber fraud operations.
