The Embassy of Bangladesh in Doha said Wednesday it is working with Qatari authorities and Qatar Airways to arrange a special flight to help Bangladeshi nationals stranded in Qatar return to Dhaka amid ongoing tensions in the Gulf region.
In an urgent advisory issued on March 11, the embassy said it has been in constant contact with the government of Qatar and the airline to facilitate travel for affected members of the Bangladeshi community.
According to the notice, priority on the proposed special flight will be given to families, women, children, and elderly passengers seeking to return to Bangladesh.
The embassy has shared the following Google Form link https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdgDAHFtb-fdeoUv1-T1O86jE0rLTxK3Mhn_tw70JiDd2Jkyw/viewform through its official social media platforms to compile a list of interested passengers. Stranded Bangladeshi nationals have been requested to submit their details through the form as soon as possible so they can be considered for the planned flight.
The advisory comes as concerns persist over the security situation in parts of the Gulf region, prompting diplomatic missions to monitor the situation and coordinate assistance for their citizens abroad.
Many expatriates from Bangladesh work in construction, services, and other sectors in Qatar. Diplomatic missions frequently coordinate with host governments and airlines to arrange repatriation or special travel assistance during emergencies or disruptions.
