The Bangladesh High Commission in the Maldives has issued an urgent public notice warning the expatriate community about fraudulent activities being carried out via the messaging app 'IMO.'
In an official statement released on Sunday, the High Commission clarified that it does not maintain any official accounts at IMO. Furthermore, the embassy emphasized that it never uses IMO to communicate or provide information to individuals.
The notice highlighted the following safety measures:
Do not enter any suspicious links sent by individuals claiming to represent the High Commission.
Never share OTPs, PINs, or any security codes with anyone on the platform.
Be cautious of scammers attempting to steal personal information or money by impersonating embassy officials.
The High Commission has urged everyone to remain vigilant and avoid falling into the traps set by cyber-scammers.
