India’s High Commissioner to Bangladesh Pranay Verma held talks with Bangladesh’s Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Afroz Khanam (Rita) in Dhaka on Thursday to explore ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the civil aviation sector.

State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism M. Rashiduzzaman Millat was also present at the meeting, according to the Indian High Commission in Dhaka.

During the discussions, both sides focused on enhancing air connectivity between the two countries, increasing air cargo capacity, and improving aviation infrastructure. They also explored opportunities for capacity building in the sector.

Verma briefed the Bangladeshi ministers on recent developments in India’s aviation industry, highlighting its rapid growth and describing it as one of the fastest-growing civil aviation markets globally.

He noted that these developments could open up avenues for closer cooperation to support the advancement of Bangladesh’s aviation sector, based on mutual interest and benefit.
