On Thursday, Bangladesh and Mongolia formalized an agreement which permits diplomatic and official passport bearers from both nations to undertake travel between the two countries without the necessity of obtaining a visa.
Bangladesh's Home Secretary Nasimul Gani and Mongolian Non-Resident Ambassador Ganbold Dambajav signed the agreement on behalf of their respective governments at the Secretariat in Dhaka, according to a PID press release.
At the signing ceremony, Nasimul Gani stated that both nations should convert their current diplomatic goodwill into strengthened commercial collaboration in order to fully realize the potential of their bilateral economic relationship.
The The Mongolian non-resident ambassador stated that a future agreement on visa-free travel for ordinary citizens of the two nations may also be finalized.
Under the new agreement, diplomats and government officials from Bangladesh and Mongolia may remain in the other country for up to 30 days without the need for a visa for travel or transit purposes.
