Philippine Airlines became the 10th carrier
worldwide to operate Airbus 350-1000, the largest version of the long-range
aircraft, after receiving its first unit this week.
Airbus announced the delivery through its official Facebook page on Monday.
Latest-generation widebody will join the airline's existing
A350-900 fleet and expand transpacific routes to major North American
destinations.
Aircraft features Airspace Cabin design, offering passengers
comfortable, connected and quietest flying experience. A350-1000 enables
non-stop flights across Pacific Ocean, strengthening Philippine Airlines'
international network.
Modern A350 combines advanced aerodynamics, new-generation
engines and airframe using 70 per cent lighter advanced materials. Technology
delivers exceptional range and efficiency while significantly reducing fuel
consumption and carbon dioxide emissions compared to older aircraft models.
Philippine Airlines operates as flag carrier of Philippines,
serving millions of passengers annually on domestic and international routes.
Addition of A350-1000 marks significant fleet modernization effort for the
carrier.
Airbus 350-1000 can typically seat between 350 to 410
passengers depending on cabin configuration. Aircraft offers range of
approximately 16,100 kilometres, making it suitable for ultra-long-haul
operations.
Fleet expansion comes as airlines globally invest in
fuel-efficient aircraft to reduce operating costs and meet environmental
targets. A350 family has gained popularity among carriers for its operational
efficiency and passenger comfort features.
Philippine Airlines joins elite group of operators including
Qatar Airways, Cathay Pacific, British Airways and Singapore Airlines in flying
A350-1000 variant. Aircraft entered service in 2018 and has since been adopted
by premium carriers worldwide.
