Bangladesh has showcased its ready-made garment (RMG) products and export potential at the Global Sourcing Expo 2026 in Sydney, seeking to expand trade opportunities and strengthen commercial ties with Australia.
The three-day international exhibition, running from June 16 to 18, is being held under the sponsorship of the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) and the management of the Bangladesh High Commission in Australia.
Bangladesh High Commissioner to Australia F. M. Borhan Uddin inaugurated the country's pavilion featuring 11 stalls representing Bangladeshi RMG manufacturers, according to a message received here.
Commercial Counsellor Rony Chakma and Julie Holt, Chief Executive Officer of the organising company, attended the inaugural ceremony alongside representatives of participating Bangladeshi firms and Australian importers.
More than 600 exhibitors from 20 countries are taking part in the expo, regarded as Australia's premier international sourcing exhibition for apparel, footwear, textiles, fashion accessories and home furnishing products.
To highlight Bangladesh's manufacturing capabilities, a seminar titled "Bangladesh RMG and Other Emerging Sectors: Sustainable Manufacturing and New Horizons for Australia-Bangladesh Trade" will be held on June 17.
The Bangladesh High Commission also organised a briefing session for representatives of the participating companies to facilitate market access and business networking opportunities.
The event would strengthen Bangladesh's position in the Australian market and create new avenues for export growth through business-to-business engagements, said the Bangladesh mission in Australia.
