Biman Bangladesh Airlines has won the Airlines Football Championship (AFC) 2026, after defeating US-Bangla Airlines 2-0 in the penalty shootout of the final match, after both teams scored an even 1-1 at the end of the second half.
Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Afroza Khanam Rita attended the prize-giving ceremony as chief guest. She handed over the trophies to both the champion, Biman Bangladesh Airlines, and runner-up, US-Bangla Airlines.
The AFC 2026 is the first-ever international inter-airline football competition in Bangladesh.
The tournament brought together domestic and foreign carriers on a common sporting platform to promote friendship, teamwork and camaraderie within the aviation community.
The 2-day futsal tournament was held on July 3 and 4 at the Gulshan Youth Club Field.
Sixteen airlines, both domestic and international, participated in the tournament.
