Shah Amanat International Airport (Chattogram airport) cancelled 7 additional flights today as Middle East conflict continues to disrupt regional aviation, bringing total cancellations to 35 since February 28.

Engineer Mohammad Ibrahim Khalil, Public Relations Officer of the airport, confirmed media. Airfields in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and Doha remain closed due to ongoing conflict in the region.

Cancelled flights include one Bangladesh Biman service arriving from Middle East. US-Bangla Airlines grounded one flight to Middle East and another to Dhaka. Air Arabia cancelled two flights bound for Middle East and two services to Dhaka.

However, some operations continued normally. Salam Air flight OV-401 from Muscat landed in Chattogram at 8:05 am, with return flight OV-402 departing for Muscat at 9:15 am. Bangladesh Biman flight BG-138 from Medina arrived at 8:45 am before departing for Dhaka at 9:30 am.

Engineer Khalil stated that all 35 international flight cancellations since 28th February resulted from Middle East conflict. He warned that further schedule changes may occur depending on how the situation develops.

Disruption affects Bangladeshi passengers travelling to and from Gulf countries for employment, business and family visits. Thousands of Bangladeshi workers are based in UAE, Qatar and other Gulf states, with regular flight connections essential for their travel needs.

Airlines have not announced when normal operations will resume, leaving passengers in uncertain position regarding travel plans to major Gulf destinations.
