Dalton Zahir named CIFFT Ambassador for Asia

The International Committee of Tourism Film Festivals (CIFFT) has appointed Bangladeshi tourism professional Mohammad Zahirul Islam, known as Dalton Zahir, as its Ambassador for Asia, according to a press release issued by the organisation.
CIFFT, which describes itself as an affiliate member of UN Tourism, said Zahir will represent the organisation and the World Tourism Film Awards across the Asian region. The release said the role is aimed at promoting tourism through film and encouraging international collaboration.
Dalton Zahir's responsibilities include:
-- Promoting CIFFT's mission and raising awareness of the World Tourism Film Awards across Asia.
-- Engaging national and regional tourism boards, public institutions, production companies, creative agencies and private sector partners interested in destination branding through audiovisual media.
-- Advising prospective participants on submitting promotional videos and tourism films to the CIFFT Circuit.
-- Encouraging excellence in travel video marketing and strengthening international recognition for Asian travel films.
-- Serving as the main liaison between CIFFT headquarters in Vienna and partners in Asia seeking collaboration.
CIFFT Director Alexander V. Kammel said: "Mr. Zahir's appointment reflects CIFFT's commitment to strengthening its presence in Asia and fostering closer cooperation with organizations and professionals who contribute to destination promotion through high-quality video storytelling."
The release said Zahir has more than 25 years of experience across the hospitality, tourism, and multinational corporate sectors. It described him as an author and media innovator who has promoted "Beautiful Bangladesh" and South Asian tourism on international platforms.
