The US Embassy has warned that failing to provide social media information on a visa application could lead to the application being denied and make the applicant ineligible for future US visas.
The embassy said so in a post on its Facebook page on Tuesday.
The Bangla text of the post said that, in the interest of ensuring US national security, failing to provide social media information in a visa application could lead to its rejection and to ineligibility for future US visas.
The image attached to the post carried the heading "Working to ensure national security" and the message: "Omitting social media information on your application could lead to visa denial and ineligibility for future U.S. visas."
The post did not say which visa categories the requirement applies to.
