Emirates will add 14 flights between Dubai and Durban in South Africa across December 2026 and January 2027, the airline said.

According to a press release, Emirates will run a second daily flight on the route between Dec 17 and 23, 2026, and again between Jan 2 and 8, 2027. The extra service will use a three-class Boeing 777.

Flight EK2535 will leave Dubai at 04:00 and land in Durban at 10:30. The return, EK2536, will depart Durban at 12:15 and arrive in Dubai at 22:30. The airline said its existing daily service, EK775 and EK776, will continue to operate as scheduled.

Emirates said the added flights will give Durban residents more options to travel abroad over the holidays, with connections through Dubai to more than 140 destinations. It listed Dubai, Thailand, Indonesia, India, France and the UK as the most popular December destinations for Durban travellers.

The airline said the flights will also support inbound tourism to Durban. It said 1.2 million visitors travelled to the city over last year’s festive period. Emirates cited South Africa’s Electronic Travel Authorisation as a factor in travel from countries such as India, China, Indonesia, and Mexico.

The airline said it has flexible booking policies for the period. These include unlimited free date changes on tickets booked to Dubai, one free date change to any other destination on its network, and a “Hold My Fare” option that locks a ticket price for 24 hours at no charge. It also said refund fees are significantly reduced.

Tickets are on sale on emirates.com, the Emirates app, and through travel agents and online travel agencies, the release said.
