Etihad Airways has confirmed its Abu Dhabi–Dhaka route as a year-round service, citing strong demand from the Bangladeshi community in the UAE, as part of a wider capacity expansion across five international routes, the airline said in a statement on Wednesday.

The Dhaka service, which began on June 26 with a sold-out inaugural flight, will operate four times a week using a Boeing 777 configured with 28 Business Class seats and 374 in Economy. Etihad said the route also carries significant belly-hold cargo, supporting trade between Bangladesh and the UAE.

Alongside the Dhaka announcement, Etihad said it was increasing frequencies and extending seasonal services on four other routes: Brussels, Kraków, Palma de Mallorca, and Zanzibar.

The airline's seasonal Abu Dhabi–Zanzibar service has been extended to March 31, 2027, from a previous end date in September, while the Abu Dhabi–Palma service, operated by an Airbus A321LR, has been extended to October 18, 2026.

Abu Dhabi–Kraków frequencies will rise to four flights a week from July 27, 2026, up from three, also operated by the A321 LR. Abu Dhabi–Brussels will increase to 11 flights a week from December 15, 2026, up from seven, with four additional weekly services on a three-cabin A321LR offering first, business, and economy.

Etihad said the changes reflect continued growth in demand, with additional capacity directed to routes where demand has been strongest.

Arik De, Etihad's Chief Revenue and Commercial Officer, said guest response had exceeded expectations across the affected markets, from Brussels and Dhaka to Kraków, Zanzibar, and Palma, and that the airline was adding capacity accordingly.

He said the expanded and extended services would bring more visitors to Abu Dhabi while strengthening the airline's global network connections.

All the newly announced services are available for booking through etihad.com, the airline said.
