Fuel tanker carrying jet fuel docks at Chattogram port

On Friday, a tanker containing 20,000 tonnes of jet fuel arrived at Chattogram port in an effort to ensure that aviation fuel supplies are maintained at airports throughout the nation, according to BSS report.

Port officials have reported that the vessel, MT Gran Kuva, docked at Chattogram port on Friday.

The Chinese company Unipec supplied the shipment in accordance with an existing fuel procurement agreement.

Chattogram Port Secretary Syed Refaet Hamim said the arrival comes amid some uncertainty in global supply schedules, but it is expected to help stabilise fuel availability.

Yusuf Hossain Bhuiyan, the Senior General Manager of the state-owned Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC), stated that the shipment comprises jet fuel that will be distributed to airports across the country.

The tanker is the ninth oil vessel to arrive in Bangladesh this month, with several more expected in the coming weeks under planned fuel import arrangements.
