Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, one of China's major international aviation hubs, had recorded more than 6.5 million inbound passengers so far this year, according to statistics released by Guangzhou Customs in south China's Guangdong Province on Saturday.

Since the start of 2026, the airport has handled over 80,000 inbound and outbound flights, up approximately 12 percent year on year, while the total number of passengers crossing the border through the airport surpassed 13.1 million, a jump of about 18.9 percent.

Both numbers set new highs for the same period in the airport's history.
