Primary registration for Hajj 2027 will begin on July 27 and continue until September 24, the Ministry of Religious Affairs has said.

The ministry announced the schedule in line with the roadmap issued by Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, according to a press release.

Aspiring pilgrims must first complete pre-registration by paying Tk 30,000. They will then have to pay Tk 3.5 lakh for primary registration through a government or private Hajj agency.

Those completing primary registration must pay the remaining package cost by December 10 to complete final registration.

Pilgrims can register through the government by creating a user account on the e-Hajj system. Registration will also be available through union digital centres, divisional and district offices of the Islamic Foundation, district and upazila model mosques, the Islamic Foundation’s Baitul Mukarram office and the Dhaka Hajj Office.

Those opting for the government-managed Hajj programme must deposit the registration money through a voucher at any branch of Sonali Bank. Pilgrims registering through private agencies must deposit the money into the bank account specified by the respective agency. The account details will be available on the agency’s profile on the Hajj portal.

The ministry has also outlined eligibility restrictions. People under 15 will not be eligible for Hajj. Individuals with chronic heart, lung, liver or kidney diseases, neurological or mental disorders, dementia, and cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy, biological therapy or radiotherapy will also be barred from travelling for Hajj.

Those suffering from active infectious diseases posing a public health risk, including tuberculosis and haemorrhagic fever, will not be eligible. Female pilgrims will not be issued fitness certificates during the final two months of pregnancy or in cases of high-risk pregnancy.

During primary registration, pilgrims will have to select their district for training and vaccination, the type of Hajj they intend to perform and their preferred Hajj package.

A passport valid until at least December 31, 2027, will be required for registration.
