The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) has congratulated Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister M Rashiduzzaman Millat on assuming office as a full minister.

In a letter sent on September 16, ICAO Council President Toshiyuki Onuma and Secretary General Juan Carlos Salazar extended their greetings to the minister on taking up his new responsibilities.

The international organisation also assured its full cooperation in the development of Bangladesh’s civil aviation sector.

In the letter, the two senior ICAO officials said the organisation would continue its full cooperation with Bangladesh in further advancing international civil aviation and ensuring safety and security in the sector.

ICAO plays an important role in the development of international civil aviation, ensuring safe air navigation and strengthening aviation security.

The organisation works for the advancement of the aviation sector by developing international standards and recommended practices for civil aviation and coordinating with its member states.

ICAO’s cooperation is considered important for the development of Bangladesh’s civil aviation sector, modernisation of airport infrastructure and strengthening of aviation security in line with international standards.

The letter also wished Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister M Rashiduzzaman Millat every success in carrying out his new responsibilities.
