Kuwait Airways announced Monday it will begin direct commercial flights to Phuket, Thailand, operating two weekly services on Saturdays and Tuesdays starting October 27, according to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA).

Acting Chief Executive Officer Abdulwahab Al-Shatti told KUNA that reservations for the new Phuket route will open Tuesday.

Al-Shatti said the new route is part of Kuwait Airways' broader strategy to expand its network of destinations and offer passengers a wider range of direct travel options, particularly to locations witnessing growing demand. He described Phuket as one of Southeast Asia's leading tourist destinations, known for its distinctive natural attractions and tourism offerings.

The launch of direct flights is expected to boost tourism and travel between Kuwait and Thailand while offering passengers greater convenience and comfort, Al-Shatti said.

He added that Kuwait Airways continues to develop its services, expand its flight network, and strengthen its presence on the regional and international aviation map through the introduction of new destinations. The expansion, he said, reflects the national carrier's continued commitment to providing travel options that meet passenger expectations and reinforce Kuwait Airways' position as Kuwait's national airline.
