AEN River Cruise launched luxury river-tour service from capital's Sowari Ghat on Monday, expanding beyond its existing Mawa Ghat operations to
bring entertainment closer to Old Dhaka residents.
Service operates Saturday to Thursday from 7:00 pm to 10:00
pm, offering buffet with over 100 items, live music and scenic river views.
Inaugurated on Monday evening with festive celebrations, cruise aims to provide
families quality experience on modern vessel without usual crowding.
Regular ticket price stands at TK three thousand per person,
but customers currently receive 33% discount, reducing cost to TK two thousand.
This pricing includes both extensive buffet and three-hour cruise, which
organisers consider highly reasonable compared to Dhaka restaurant buffets
ranging between TK 1,500 to TK 2,000.
Owner drew inspiration from Thailand's river-based tourism
to introduce similar experience in Bangladesh. Service features band parties,
cultural programmes and photo spots alongside free movement around vessel.
Special arrangements for children have also been made.
Existing Mawa to Shimulia Ghat cruise continues operating
only on Fridays from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm with identical features and pricing.
Both services offer same discounted rate of TK 2,000 per person.
Sadarghat location specifically addresses long travel
distances faced by Old Dhaka residents, ensuring easier access to
entertainment. Organisers emphasised bringing service closer to communities
that previously struggled with reaching distant venues.
Beyond regular cruises, customers can book entire ship for
day-long programmes including picnics, birthdays, gaye holud ceremonies,
weddings and corporate events. Private booking options cater to various
celebrations and gatherings.
