One of the country's private airlines, NOVOAIR, and Gold’s Gym Bangladesh have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to strengthen cooperation and offer benefits to customers of both organizations, NOVOAIR said in a press release.

The MoU was signed on Wednesday at the Gold’s Gym office in Dhaka’s Bashundhara Residential Area. Sohail Majid, NOVOAIR’s Director (Sales and Marketing), and Anisul Islam Boby, Head of Operations at Gold’s Gym Bangladesh, signed it for their organisations. Senior officials from both sides attended.

Under the agreement, members of Novoair’s frequent flyer programme, Smiles, will receive a special discount on Gold’s Gym membership. They will also receive specialised fitness facilities meant to encourage physical fitness and a healthy lifestyle.

Under the Gold Package, Smiles members will be able to use both Gold’s Gym branches in the Bashundhara Residential Area and at Bashundhara City in Panthapath.

In return, Gold’s Gym members will get a 10 percent discount on the base fare when flying with NOVOAIR, the release said.

NOVOAIR launched Smiles in 2013. The airline says it was the first in Bangladesh’s aviation industry to introduce a frequent flyer programme.

Officials of both organisations said they hoped the partnership would widen customer services and promote health, fitness, and a better quality of life.

NOVOAIR currently operates daily scheduled flights from Dhaka to Cox’s Bazar, Chattogram, Sylhet and Saidpur.
