Oman Air has signed a codeshare agreement with Finnair, giving passengers more travel options between Oman, Finland and Australia, according to a report by Gulf News.
It is the Omani carrier’s first partnership of this kind since it joined the oneworld alliance in June 2025, the report said.
Under the agreement, passengers will be able to travel to Helsinki via London Heathrow, where Oman Air operates 11 weekly flights from its Muscat hub. The deal also covers Finnair-operated flights to Helsinki from seven European cities: Paris, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Munich, Zurich, Milan, and Rome.
The agreement extends to Australia, providing connections to Melbourne via Bangkok, where Oman Air operates two daily flights.
Rohan Patel, Oman Air’s Head of Partnerships and Alliances, said the agreement was an important strategic step towards realising the full benefits of the airline’s membership in the global alliance, according to the report. He said the partnership would significantly expand travel options, giving Oman Air passengers easier access to Helsinki and onward destinations across Finnair’s network.
The report did not say when the codeshare flights will go on sale or begin operating, or which airline’s services will carry the other’s code on each route. It also did not say which carrier operates the Bangkok-Melbourne leg. The report carried no direct quotes, and Aviation Express has not independently verified the details.
