More than 100 travel industry professionals, tour operators, airline representatives and tourism stakeholders gathered in Dhaka on Saturday for the Philippines Roadshow 2026 – Bangladesh Edition, a business-to-business networking and destination promotion event aimed at strengthening tourism cooperation between Bangladesh and Philippines.
The event, organized by Philippines’ leading destination management company (DMCs) Shroff Travel, was held at the Sheraton Hotel Dhaka and sought to increase destination awareness, create business opportunities and foster strategic partnerships between tourism stakeholders from the two countries.
The programme began with networking sessions, followed by the national anthems of Bangladesh and the Philippines and an opening prayer. Welcoming participants, Md. Rashedujjaman Fosyal, assistant general manager of InnoGlobe Travel and Tours Ltd., highlighted the growing potential of Bangladesh's outbound tourism market and the importance of international collaboration in expanding travel opportunities for Bangladeshi tourists.
Addressing the event, Nina P. Cainglet, Ambassador of the Philippines to Bangladesh, underscored the importance of strengthening people-to-people connections and expanding tourism cooperation between the two countries.
A key feature of the roadshow was a destination presentation by Arjun Shroff, chief executive officer of Shroff Travel, who showcased the Philippines' tourism offerings, including its beaches, islands, luxury resorts, adventure tourism opportunities, cultural heritage and major cities.
During the presentation, Shroff introduced Dr. Md. Taslim Amin Shovon, chief executive officer of InnoGlobe Travel and Tours Ltd., and acknowledged his contributions to tourism development and international tourism partnerships in Bangladesh.
The roadshow drew participation from more than 100 representatives of travel agencies, tour operators, destination specialists and tourism businesses from across Bangladesh, including outbound tour operators seeking new destinations and partnership opportunities.
Representatives from the aviation sector also attended the event, including Sharna Das, country manager of Malaysia Airlines, alongside senior officials from Air India and Air Asia.
Speaking at the event, Shroff said Bangladesh and the Philippines share a longstanding friendship based on mutual respect, cultural understanding and growing economic cooperation. He said tourism could play an important role in further strengthening those ties by fostering connections between people from both countries.
He also highlighted the Philippines' diverse tourism attractions, including destinations such as Palawan, Boracay, Manila, Cebu and Davao, and expressed interest in expanding collaboration with Bangladeshi tour operators through destination training, marketing support, customized travel packages and business partnerships.
Following the presentation, participants took part in an interactive question-and-answer session covering tourism products, destinations, visa-related information and potential areas of cooperation.
The roadshow was organized by Shroff Travel, with InnoGlobe Travel and Tours Ltd. serving as the official travel partner and Vantora Communications Limited providing event support and communications assistance.
