Land Minister Mizanur Rahman Minu said that Hazrat Shah Makhdum (R.) Airport in Rajshahi will be upgraded into international standard. 

He made the remarks this afternoon while speaking as chief guest at the district council’s scholarship distribution ceremony. The district council organized the event.

At the event, the Land Minister said, "In terms of law and order and cleanliness, Rajshahi is at present, one of the best cities in Bangladesh. Rajshahi Airport will soon be upgraded to international standard, and an 'agro-based' EPZ will be established here to expand trade and commerce."

Special guests at the event included Shafiqul Haque Milon, MP, Professor Nazrul Islam Mondal, MP, Divisional Commissioner Dr. A. N. M. Bazlur Rashid, Administrator of Rajshahi City Corporation Mahfuzur Rahman Riton, former City Mayor Mosaddek Hossain Bulbul, Deputy Commissioner Kazi Shahidul Islam and Additional Commissioner of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police Md. Faruk Hossain.

At the end of the event, Minister Mizanur Rahman Minu handed over scholarship checks of TK 5,000 and crests to 483 meritorious students of the SSC-2025 batch.
