The Ministry of Religious Affairs has urged caution over propaganda to conduct Hajj activities through unlicensed agencies, groups or caravans.
At the same time, it has been requested not to make Hajj-related financial transactions with any institution other than listed and licensed Hajj agencies.
This call was made in a notification issued by the ministry's Hajj-3 branch on Thursday.
The notification said that some unlicensed agencies, groups and caravans are trying to lure Hajj pilgrims by promoting attractive Hajj packages on various social media platforms including Facebook. But there is no opportunity to conduct Hajj activities through any agency, agent, group or caravan other than the government-approved, legally licensed and listed Hajj agencies, and it is not possible to go for Hajj through them.
The Ministry of Religion has said that to avoid fraud, one should refrain from making Hajj-related financial transactions with any agency, travel agent, group or caravan other than a registered qualified Hajj agency.
The notification also said that the 2027 Hajj package and Hajj guidelines will be announced soon. The ministry has requested the concerned to follow the packages and guidelines published as per the government announcement.
