Singapore Airlines (SIA) will unveil its redesigned first- and business-class seats to a group of top-tier frequent flyers on November 7, ahead of the new cabin's rollout on its Airbus A350-900 fleet in the first quarter of 2027, the Straits Times reported.

According to an email seen by the Straits Times, SIA is holding an exclusive preview event for members of its Solitaire PPS and PPS Club loyalty tiers at the Marina Bay Sands Expo & Convention Centre. The email described the event as a first look at a "reimagined travel experience."

The new seats form part of a $1.1 billion, multi-year cabin upgrade covering 41 Airbus A350 aircraft, originally due for completion by the second quarter of 2026. The Straits Times reported that industrywide supply chain constraints and a delay in certifying one of the new seats pushed back the timeline. The redesigned cabin was also intended to debut on Boeing's next-generation 777-9, but delays to that aircraft's production have held up that plan since as early as 2021.

An SIA spokesperson told the Straits Times on September 2, "Singapore Airlines will unveil our new travel experience in November 2026. This will include our next-generation long-haul cabin products, enhanced in-flight food and beverage offerings, a new KrisWorld in-flight entertainment system, and new amenity kits."

The airline has said the new long-haul first- and business-class seats will feature a "spacious layout and ergonomic elements," with teaser images showing privacy doors on the new business-class product.

Under the revamp, 34 A350-900 long-haul aircraft will be reconfigured to carry 42 business-class seats, 24 premium economy seats, and 192 economy-class seats—five more economy seats than the current layout. SIA's seven A350-900 ultra-long-range jets will gain first-class seats for the first time, along with new premium economy and business cabins. Once upgraded, those aircraft will carry four first-class seats, 70 business-class seats, and 58 premium economy seats—three more business-class seats but 36 fewer premium economy seats than at present. SIA Engineering will carry out the cabin overhaul in Singapore.

The delays to Boeing's 777-9 have led rival carriers to introduce new cabin products on other aircraft first. Cathay Pacific launched its Aria Suites business-class seats on a retrofitted Boeing 777-300ER in October 2024, while Lufthansa introduced its Allegris cabin on the A350 in May 2024 and on the Boeing 787 in October 2025.

SIA last overhauled its business-class seats and introduced its Suites first-class product on its Airbus A380s in 2017.

From 2027, the airline plans to introduce Starlink's low-Earth-orbit satellite broadband service in stages to improve onboard internet connectivity. SIA said it remains committed to investing in its product and service offerings to enhance the customer experience.
