The Migration Section of the Embassy of Sweden in Dhaka has started scheduling appointments for cases other than those related to students, the embassy said in a statement posted on its verified Facebook page on Monday.
According to the statement, appointments are allocated strictly on the basis of the earliest available date and time, and the embassy said that contacting it repeatedly by phone or email will not result in an earlier appointment being granted.
The embassy also clarified a point of confusion for applicants regarding instructions from the Swedish Migration Agency. When the agency instructs an applicant to book an appointment with the embassy for a passport check or interview, it means the applicant is required to contact the embassy within 30 days of receiving that instruction—not that the passport check or interview itself must take place within that 30-day window, the statement said.
The embassy further requested that applicants refrain from making repeated inquiries about appointment availability, stating that such inquiries could affect its ability to process requests efficiently.
The embassy concluded the statement by thanking applicants for their understanding and cooperation.
